11/23/2025……..Another Weekend Filled With Sand!!

The last couple of days have been all about the floors, again and somehow they’re looking better and better with each pass of the sander. We’re getting so close to the finish line I can practically feel that matte top coat already. I keep catching myself daydreaming about the moment we finally get to step back and see them fully done, glowing softly, all the character of this old house shining through.

And of course, once the floors are finished, I can already picture us moving right on to the stairs, the foyer, the downstairs bathroom, the dining room, the living room… it’s like watching the house slowly wake up, room by room.

But truly none of this would even be possible without our absolute rock stars: my father-in-law Darrell and sweet Grammy Lee. The work, the hours, the patience, the expertise they’ve given us so much. Jesse and I look at each other all the time and say, ‘We could have never done this without them.’ And it’s completely true. The help they’ve poured into this house is the kind of love you can see in the walls (and floors!) every single day.

This place is becoming more beautiful, more ‘us,’ and more of a family project than we ever imagined. I’m just feeling so grateful and excited as everything comes together.
